Turn your bathroom into a spa with a luxurious bath!

There is nothing better than coming home after a long/stressful/draining day and getting into a lovely warm bath. I’ve decided to list my top three ways of making bath time that extra bit special. If you can, get some candles and put on some of your favourite relaxing music to really set the ambiance.

BATH NUMBER ONE: LAVENDER AND EPSOM SALTS

– best for aching joints

Make yourself a warm bath and add 10 drops of lavender oil into the warm water (a bath should never be too hot, it should be comfortably warm otherwise you can risk damaging your skin) and add 6 tablespoons of Epsom salts (this is just the amount I like to use, feel free to use less or more). Swirl the water around so that the Epsom salts dissolve. You could also add a handful of sea salt to this bath as the sea salt helps to relax and relieve muscle pain.

BATH NUMBER TWO: MILK AND HONEY

– best for relaxation and softer skin

Run yourself a warm bath again, remembering not to let the water get too hot. Add two mug sized cups of milk to your bath and 5-6 tablespoons of honey. The milk and honey will help to sooth and soften your skin after a good 10-20 minute soak. This type of bath was a favourite with Cleopatra!

BATH NUMBER THREE: GREEN TEA, GINGER AND TEA TREE OIL

– best for detox

Make yourself a warm bath and add 2 cups of green tea infused water and 5-8 drops of tea tree oil. Grate a chunk of ginger and place in a muslin cloth then secure with an elastic band. Drop your ginger parcel in the water and leave to infuse for 3 minutes. Swirl the water around then soak yourself in the bath for 20-25 minutes.
